
The Coordinator of the Project of The Establishment of the Palestinian Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights at the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Ms. Bisan Abtli, at An-Najah National University, participated in an academic visit to Ireland with the aim of building and strengthening academic cooperation with Irish universities in the fields of international law, international humanitarian law, and human rights.
The visit included meetings with leading Irish universities renowned for their work in international law and human rights, with visits conducted to Maynooth University, Dublin Technological University, Dublin City University, Trinity College, the University of Galway, and the Irish Centre for Human Rights. The purpose of these visits was to explore avenues for cooperation in legal education and academic research, practical and training opportunities for Palestinian law students, and the exchange of expertise between Palestinian and Irish academics. The visit also included several meetings with experts in various fields of international law and human rights, where discussions explored the potential for developing joint academic programs, organizing specialized training workshops, and launching research initiatives that enhance the dissemination of legal knowledge in Palestine while supporting the development of Palestinian students’ skills in multicultural environments.
This visit comes as part of the ongoing efforts of the Palestinian Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights to strengthen its international academic partnerships, in line with its vision of building a global cooperation network that advances the development of legal education and the teaching of international law in Palestinian universities. The visit is part of the activities of the Project of The Establishment of the Palestinian Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, funded by the European Union.
