On May 11, 2025, the Palestinian Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights at The Faculty of Law and Political Science, An-Najah National University signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Pozen Family Center for Human Rights at the University of Chicago, with the aim of strengthening academic and research cooperation in the fields of international humanitarian law and human rights, and supporting practical training opportunities for university students.
As part of this cooperation with the Pozen Center, the Institute is hosting Ms. Salma Tajeddine as a summer intern under the supervision of the Institute Establishment Project team. Ms. Tajeddine graduated from the University of Chicago last June, earning a master’s degree in International Relations from the Committee on International Relations (CIR) program, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with honors. She also has practical experience, having worked with the Global Human Rights Clinic (GHRC) at the University of Chicago Law School, and supported the work of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions, Mr. Morris Tidball-Binz, in the summer of 2024.
This cooperation reflects the vision of the Palestinian Institute to build international academic partnerships that support the dissemination of legal and human rights knowledge in Palestine and provide quality opportunities for students and researchers to develop their skills in multicultural environments.
