The legal clinic at An-Najah National University was held on Wednesday, 20 September 2023, as a legal day entitled " "Legal Regulation of Labor Contracts and Responsibilities of Company Owners to Workers" in cooperation with the Bethlehem Governorate Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as the National Framework for the Attribution and Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises "My facility", in the presence of a group of representatives of economic companies and enterprises members of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as Mr. D. Samir Hizboun - Chairman of the Bethlehem Governorate Chamber of Commerce and Industry and members of the Board of Directors, Mr. Adel Al-Hudli, Jamal Handel, Ms. Soha Gideon, Director of Membership and Services, Coordinator of the Project and Mr. Salah Abukta, Membership and Services and a number of the General Assembly.

The Legal Day was opened by Dr. Samir Hizboun welcomed the attendance and appreciated the efforts of the National Framework for the Assignment of Installations and the Legal Clinic at An-Najah National University. He also stressed the importance of this meeting, which clarifies the responsibilities and duties of the Contracting Parties, preserves their rights and contributes to the implementation of the Palestinian Labor Law No. 7 of 2000.

For his part, counsel Naeem Salameh, Professor of Law at An-Najah National University, gave a presentation on the legal regulation of employment contracts, their types and duration and the reasons why company owners are calling for the termination of these contracts. Workers' rights, end-of-service bonuses, conditions and conditions of employment, holidays and other provisions were discussed.

He also addressed the importance of applying occupational safety and health conditions in establishments and of taking all personal protection measures and protecting workers from hazards of work and the existence of instructions and their sanctions regulation.

The meeting included several questions, inquiries and interventions by the owners of companies that reflected their awareness, interaction and interest in the subject, and it was agreed to follow up and hold other meetings in this regard.

It should be noted that this legal day is part of the activities of the project to enhance the sustainability of the legal clinic at An-Najah National University, funded by Sawasya 2 program, implemented through UNDP, UN-Women and UNICEF.
