The legal clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of An-Najah National University in cooperation with the Mothers' Association-Beit Amrin on November 17, 2024, held a legal awareness campaign, entitled "Rights of the Palestinian child", with a view to disseminating legal awareness about children's rights.
The workshop dealt with the theme "The rights of the Palestinian child". The workshop dealt with a comprehensive definition of the concept and fundamental rights of the child, with a focus on the child's right to life, maintenance and education. Health and social aspects of children's rights were also addressed to ensure a safe and appropriate environment for children's development and capacity development.
The workshop was presented by the volunteers of the legal clinic, Ms. Mai Kanaan and Ms. Butul Abu Zanit, where the workshop was initiated by introducing the legal clinic and welcoming participants. Subsequently, the volunteers provided an extensive explanation of laws on Palestinian children's rights, including the Palestinian Children's Code, the Palestinian Labor Code and the Personal Status Code
The meeting saw a remarkable interaction from participants, where many inquiries were raised about children's rights, and they were answered comprehensively by the workshop providers. This event comes within the framework of the project to promote the sustainability of legal clinics at An-Najah National University, funded by "Sawasya 3" program and implemented in partnership with UNDP, UN Women and UNICEF.
