The legal clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of An-Najah National University organized intensive training for its students on personal law, in cooperation with the Palestinian Alimony Fund. The training took place over three intensive meetings on November 24 and 25 and December 1, 2024, and was presented by lawyers Zania Khalifa and Asma Hanbali names.
The training focused on key topics, including expenditure issues, custody, annexation proceedings and dispersal issues, focusing on the practical applications of these cases in sharia courts. The training also included a detailed explanation of the role of the Palestinian Alimony Fund in the application of the Personal Status Law, outlining the procedures and requirements for disbursing expenses through it. This training provided students with the opportunity to interact with factual issues, thereby enhancing their practical legal skills.

This training is in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to the achievement of Goal 5, "Gender Equality", by enabling students to understand issues related to maintenance and custody, thereby promoting social justice. It also supports Goal XVI, "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions" by qualifying students to develop their legal abilities and ensure equity in legal issues, and Goal IV, "Quality education", by providing a practical learning experience that prepares students to deal effectively with complex legal issues.

The workshop is part of a series of awareness-raising campaign carried out by the legal clinic at An-Najah National University, within the project to enhance the sustainability of the legal clinic, funded by Sawasya 3 program, implemented in partnership with UNDP, UN-Women and UNICEF. These efforts aim to promote social justice and support the most vulnerable in Palestinian society, in line with the principles of sustainable development.
