The legal clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science An-Najah National University organized intensive training for its students on legitimate consulting and applicable laws during a series of meetings held on the dates 2, 8, 9 and 15 December 2024. The training was provided by Mohammed Al-Atrash, the lawyer of the legal clinic, who focused on enhancing students' practical skills and enabling them to deal with legitimate issues professionally and efficiently.

Training included a number of important themes, notably the introduction of the applicable legal laws in Palestine, such as Family laws, and the provision of legal and professional consultations. The training also included training in the preparation of legal notes and counseling based on factual situations, which provided students with an opportunity to interact with practical cases presented in the sharia courts and enhance their understanding of the associated legal procedures.

The training aims to prepare students to deal with legitimate issues from a legal and practical perspective, thereby enhancing their ability to provide accurate and effective counselling. The training also contributes to the development of students' skills in linking theoretical education with practical practice, thereby enhancing their readiness to engage in the legal labor market.

This training is in the context of An-Najah National University's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, supporting Goal 4 (Quality education) through the provision of advanced practical training that enhances students' legal skills, and Goal 5 (gender equality), by focusing on personal status issues that contribute to protecting women's rights and ensuring justice in legal cases, and Goal 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions, by preparing students capable of upholding the rule of law and promoting social justice and effective legal institutions.

This training has proven successful in enhancing students' self-confidence and providing them with practical experiences that help them provide professional legal consultations that serve Palestinian society. This effort reflects An-Najah National University's desire to provide educational programs that contribute to building a generation of legal professionals capable of serving society and achieving justice.

The workshop is part of a series of awareness-raising activities carried out by the legal clinic at the National University of Success, within the project to enhance the sustainability of the legal clinic, funded by Sawasya 3 program, implemented in partnership with UNDP, UN-Women and UNICEF. These efforts aim to promote social justice and support the most vulnerable in Palestinian society, in line with the principles of sustainable development.
