On Thursday, August 7, 2025, the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University organized a legal awareness campaign under the title: “Protect Yourself… Say No to Extortion!” The session was held at the summer club in the Old City of Nablus and was delivered by legal clinic volunteers Ms. Mira Awad and Mr. Mohammad Bishtawi.

The activity targeted children and adolescents participating in the summer club activities. It addressed the concept of cyber extortion, its forms, risks, and the available legal protection mechanisms. The content was presented in simplified language appropriate for the age group, using interactive tools such as visual presentations and group discussions.

This initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting legal knowledge, Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by empowering girls and boys to protect themselves online, and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by supporting access to justice and promoting a culture of rights and prevention of cybercrimes.

This activity is part of the Legal Clinic’s ongoing efforts to enhance community legal awareness and empower vulnerable groups—particularly children—to understand their rights in the digital environment and access protection from online violence. The campaign is implemented under the “Enhancing the Sustainability of the Legal Clinic” project, supported by Sawasya III: the joint program of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, and UNICEF, aimed at promoting equitable access to justice in Palestine.
