The Najah Legal Incubator, affiliated with the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University, conducted a field visit on Wednesday, 3 April 2026, for legal incubator pioneers practicing lawyers to Takaful Insurance Company in Nablus. The visit followed the completion of a specialized training program in Insurance Law, and was attended by the trainer, Mr. Issam Al-Shahouri.

During the visit, the incubator pioneers met with the company’s Nablus branch manager, Mr. Mahfouz Asfour, who was introduced to the Legal Incubator, its objectives, and the participating lawyer pioneers. Mr. Asfour welcomed the visit and commended the role played by the Legal Clinic in supporting young lawyers, strengthening their professional readiness, and linking them to the legal labor market.

Mr. Asfour also delivered an introductory presentation on Takaful Insurance Company, outlining the company’s establishment, its operational framework, and the main insurance services it provides. He further explained the company’s organizational structure, the functions of its various departments, and the operational mechanisms within each unit, with particular emphasis on the legal aspects related to insurance contracts and the settlement of insurance claims.

The visit featured an interactive professional discussion in which the lawyer pioneers raised a number of specialized questions related to the practical application of insurance law, mechanisms for handling insurance disputes, and the role of lawyers in insurance-related cases. These questions were addressed comprehensively, contributing to a deeper practical understanding of the issues covered during the training.

At the conclusion of the visit, participants conducted a field tour of the company, where they were introduced to its different departments and the nature of their work, including underwriting, claims, and administrative divisions. This provided the pioneers with first-hand exposure to the operational processes within the insurance sector and helped bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application.

This visit forms part of the Legal Clinic’s ongoing efforts to promote practice-oriented legal training for lawyers and to enable legal incubator pioneers to acquire specialized practical experience that enhances their professional competencies and improves their opportunities within the legal profession.

The activity is part of a broader series of initiatives implemented by the Legal Clinic under the project “Enhancing the Sustainability of the Legal Clinic,” which aims to develop the capacities of young lawyers, strengthen partnerships with private sector institutions, and support the rule of law in Palestine. The project is funded by the SAWASYA Programme and implemented in partnership with United Nations Development Programme, UN Women, and UNICEF, contributing to the promotion of justice and sustainable development in Palestinian society.
