The Najah Legal Incubator, affiliated with the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University, conducted a legal awareness campaign on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, at the Women’s studies Center in Nablus. The campaign formed part of the incubator’s ongoing efforts to enhance legal awareness among women and young people regarding labor rights and legal protections in the workplace.
The campaign was delivered by Legal Incubator pioneers, Mr. Laith Abu Zant and Mr. Montaser Al-Jallad, who addressed the legal regulation of juveniles and women under Palestinian Labor Law. The session focused on key legal rights and obligations, employment conditions, working hours, protection from exploitation, and the legal safeguards provided for groups that are particularly vulnerable to violations in the workplace.
The presenters also discussed the legal framework governing the employment of juveniles, including statutory restrictions on their employment, as well as the specific rights afforded to working women, such as leave entitlements, protection from arbitrary dismissal, and the right to a safe working environment. In addition, the session explained the available mechanisms for reporting and addressing labor rights violations and highlighted the importance of legal awareness in preventing labor disputes.
The campaign witnessed strong engagement from participants, who raised a number of questions related to real-life experiences in the labor market. This interaction enriched the discussion, helped connect legal provisions with practical realities, and contributed to strengthening participants’ legal understanding.
This campaign forms part of a broader series of awareness activities implemented by the Legal Clinic aimed at empowering women and juveniles through legal knowledge and promoting a culture of rights and responsibilities in the workplace, thereby supporting social justice and protecting vulnerable groups.
The activity is implemented within the framework of the project “Enhancing the Sustainability of the Legal Clinic,” funded by the SAWASYA Programme and carried out in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, UN Women, and UNICEF, in line with the project’s objectives of strengthening the rule of law, promoting equitable access to justice, and empowering women and youth in Palestinian society.
