As part of its efforts to promote legal awareness and foster a culture of labor rights among youth, the An-Najah Legal Incubator at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University conducted a legal awareness campaign entitled “Women’s Rights at Work” on Thursday, 18 June 2026, at Seeds for Development and Culture Association. The campaign was delivered by legal incubator participants Raghad Tanbour and Farah Tbeileh.

The campaign targeted a group of young men and women from the local community and focused on raising awareness of women's labor rights as guaranteed under Palestinian labor legislation and relevant international standards. Participants were introduced to the principles of equality and non-discrimination in employment, women’s rights and protections in the workplace, and the legal safeguards available to women workers.

The campaign also addressed key issues related to employment contracts, fair working conditions, maternity rights, workplace protection mechanisms, and procedures for reporting labor rights violations. In addition, participants were informed about the role of labor institutions and available legal mechanisms for protecting workers’ rights.

The session featured interactive discussions and practical examples that enabled participants to engage with real-life workplace situations and explore the legal dimensions of labor rights and responsibilities, contributing to a stronger understanding of legal protections within the work environment.

This campaign contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through the dissemination of legal knowledge, Goal 5 (Gender Equality) through promoting awareness of women's rights and protections in the workplace, Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through advancing fair and safe working conditions, and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) through strengthening legal awareness and access to justice.

The initiative forms part of the awareness and capacity-building activities implemented by the An-Najah Legal Incubator within the framework of the project “Enhancing the Sustainability of the Legal Clinic,” funded through the Sawasya III Programme in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
