As part of the continuation of its professional, practice-oriented legal training program, the An-Najah Legal Incubator, affiliated with the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University, organized a specialized legal training entitled “Labor Law and Its Practical Applications”, held on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 20–21, 2026, at the premises of the An-Najah Legal Incubator, with the participation of lawyers enrolled in the incubator.
This training forms part of a series of specialized legal trainings implemented by the Incubator, aiming to support newly practicing lawyers, enhance their practical skills, and bridge legal texts with judicial application and the realities of legal practice. Through this approach, the program contributes to improving the quality of legal services and strengthening access to justice.
The training was delivered by Mr. Rushdi Abu Hamad, who provided a practical and applied overview of the provisions of the Palestinian Labor Law No. (7) of 2000. The sessions focused on regulating employment relationships, types of employment contracts, methods of proving the existence of an employment relationship before the courts, calculation of labor entitlements, cases of termination of employment contracts and arbitrary dismissal, as well as the practical procedures for labor lawsuits, drafting legal pleadings, and avoiding common mistakes in labor litigation. The training relied on real-life examples, practical exercises, and interactive legal discussions.
The training witnessed notable engagement from participants, who discussed practical cases and challenges drawn from their professional experience, contributing to enriching the legal dialogue and enhancing their applied understanding of labor law provisions and the effective use of these provisions in protecting workers’ rights and professionally representing the parties to employment relationships.
This training represents a key milestone within the Incubator’s training program and reflects its vision of preparing lawyers with high professional competence and the ability to address specialized legal issues with professionalism and social responsibility, thereby contributing to the reinforcement of the rule of law and service to the Palestinian community.
This activity was implemented within the framework of the project “Enhancing the Sustainability of the Legal Clinic”, carried out in partnership with Sawasiya 3, the joint program of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), as part of ongoing efforts to advance clinical legal education and strengthen the justice system in Palestine.
The activities of the An-Najah Legal Incubator are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), through empowering lawyers and building their professional capacities in a manner that strengthens the justice system and serves the Palestinian society.
