Since the very beginning of my journey into the world of debates, I believed that a passion for challenge would define this stage of my life. We cannot deny that fear feelings sometimes made us hesitate; however, our constant Inquisitiveness and love of knowledge always pushed us forward with enthusiasm. When words guided us, we responded with argument and evidence. We drew out meaning and believed that the path is never complete without refutation. Even when the road seemed overshadowed, it eventually became clear again—for one cannot ignore the question. All of this gives thought the space to break free from rhythm and limitation.

I am proud to be part of the Moot CourtDebate Society at An-Najah University and to have been among the teams that represented the university in international championships, through which we achieved advanced positions, in addition to winning first places in national competitions in Palestine.

Engaging in the world of debates provides the opportunity to think and analyze various issues within a limited time. We used to receive the motion only twenty minutes before the debate, which required us to stay constantly informed about developments across different fields and to practice building our team’s strategy. All of this motivated us to continue researching and to use debate as a method for finding solutions to the diverse challenges we face.

I believe in what Ghassan Kanafani once said: ideas never die—and the art of debate is an idea.
