The visit aimed to strengthen participants' practical understanding of the principles of international human rights law relating to fair trial guarantees and to explore how these principles are applied in practice, particularly within the Palestinian context. It also provided participants with the opportunity to learn from the experience of one of Palestine's leading human rights organizations in the fields of legal documentation, advocacy, and the use of national and international protection and accountability mechanisms.

During the visit, participants discussed a range of practical issues relating to the implementation of fair trial guarantees at different levels. Discussions covered the role of human rights organizations in documenting violations, analyzing facts in light of international human rights law, and utilizing national, regional, and international mechanisms to monitor compliance with fair trial guarantees, advocate for their protection, and promote accountability for violations affecting them.

The visit reflects the Palestinian Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights' commitment to advancing practice-oriented legal education, encouraging students' engagement with international law through practical learning experiences, and strengthening their capacities in the fields of international humanitarian law and human rights.
