The defense sessions took place before a distinguished evaluation panel comprising Ms. Safa Bal'awi, Director of the Legal Clinic; Mr. Mohammad Al-Atrash, Clinic Attorney; and Attorney Samira Al-Masri. During the sessions, students delivered a variety of oral pleadings covering diverse legal issues, showcasing advanced skills in legal analysis, drafting defenses, constructing legal arguments, and public speaking before the panel.

The session opened with welcoming and orientation remarks by Ms. Safa Bal'awi, who emphasized the importance of this training and these discussions in refining the students' legal persona. She stated:

"The primary objective of the Legal Clinic course and the Art of Advocacy training is to confidently transition students from theoretical frameworks into practical application. The excellence demonstrated by students today and the diversity of their pleadings reflect their commitment and the benefit derived from this practical training—a crucial step toward building a promising generation of legal professionals equipped to defend rights and uphold the rule of law."

For her part, Dr. Noor Adas, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, delivered a speech praising the efforts of the Legal Clinic and its staff. She expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the participating students and their attending families, highlighting that such activities embody the vision of the Faculty and the University in providing high-quality, comprehensive legal education. She added:

"The Faculty places paramount importance on practical training that simulates courtroom proceedings. The Art of Advocacy training and its evaluation form a vital pillar in preparing students to compete effectively in the job market and handle real-world cases with high competence. We take immense pride in the advanced level demonstrated by our students today, and we reaffirm our continued support for these initiatives that serve the community and reinforce the justice system."

Throughout the discussions, the evaluation panel provided valuable feedback and guidance, focusing on refining courtroom demeanor, identifying key legal issues in pleadings, and effectively addressing bench questions and judicial inquiries. This imparted a practical character to the discussions, enriching the students' experience and enhancing their professional maturity.

This event aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by An-Najah National University, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing practical learning skills, and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by preparing legal professionals capable of supporting access to justice and the rule of law.

These activities are part of a continuous series of training programs implemented regularly by the Legal Clinic to qualify students of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, equipping them with the essential practical experience required to practice law and engage in legal work with competence and responsibility.
