As part of its efforts to enhance community legal awareness regarding digital developments and challenges associated with electronic transactions, the An-Najah Legal Incubator, affiliated with the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University, conducted a legal awareness campaign entitled “E-Commerce” on Monday, 11 May 2026, at the Mothers’ School Association in Nablus. The workshop was delivered by Ms. Alaa Khalilieh, a participant in the An-Najah Legal Incubator.

The campaign targeted members of the local community and focused on introducing participants to the concept and importance of e-commerce in everyday life, in addition to explaining the most common forms of online commercial transactions conducted through digital platforms and social media applications.

The campaign addressed the legal aspects related to e-commerce, including the rights and obligations arising from electronic contracts, mechanisms for consumer protection in online transactions, and methods for verifying the credibility of online stores. It also highlighted the legal risks associated with fraud and cybercrimes that may accompany certain electronic transactions.

In addition, the campaign emphasized the importance of protecting personal data and financial information while using digital applications and online platforms. Practical guidance was also provided regarding safe digital practices and the proper legal procedures to follow in cases of fraud or electronic violations.

The campaign included an interactive discussion session, during which participants raised questions related to daily online transactions. Legal aspects were clarified in a practical and simplified manner, contributing to enhancing the legal and digital awareness of the attendees.

This campaign comes within the efforts of the An-Najah Legal Incubator to spread legal culture and raise community awareness regarding contemporary legal issues, particularly those related to digital transformation and modern technology, contributing to strengthening legal protection and promoting access to justice.

This initiative also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 related to quality education through the dissemination of legal knowledge, Goal 9 related to innovation and technology, and Goal 16, which focuses on promoting justice and strong institutions through enhancing legal and digital awareness within society.

This initiative is part of a series of training and awareness activities implemented by the Legal Clinic under the project “Enhancing the Sustainability of the Legal Clinic,” funded by the Sawasya III Programme in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, and UNICEF.
