As part of its efforts to promote legal awareness and strengthen legal literacy within the community, the An-Najah Legal Incubator, affiliated with the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University, conducted a legal awareness campaign entitled “The Landlords and Tenants Law: Balancing the Rights of Landlords and Tenants” on Thursday, 25 June 2026, at the Women’s Activity Center in Askar Old Camp. The session was delivered by Ms. Roaa Hseiba, a participant in the An-Najah Legal Incubator.

The campaign targeted women from the local community and was attended by trainees enrolled in the training program implemented by the Legal Clinic in cooperation with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), as part of ongoing efforts to enhance engagement in community-based legal activities and connect legal theory with practical application.

The session addressed the key legal provisions governing the relationship between landlords and tenants, highlighting the rights and obligations of both parties, the legal implications of tenancy agreements, and the circumstances under which eviction may be permitted under applicable law. It also shed light on common legal issues arising from tenancy relationships and the appropriate legal mechanisms for addressing them in accordance with relevant legislation.

In addition, the campaign emphasized the importance of understanding the legal rights and responsibilities of both landlords and tenants, contributing to the prevention of disputes and the promotion of stable contractual relationships.

The event featured an interactive discussion, during which participants raised questions and shared concerns related to tenancy matters commonly encountered in practice. These issues were addressed in a practical and accessible manner, contributing to a greater understanding of the relevant legal principles among attendees.

This campaign forms part of the An-Najah Legal Incubator’s broader efforts to disseminate legal knowledge and raise public awareness of legal issues that affect everyday life, thereby enhancing legal protection and supporting access to justice.

The initiative also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the dissemination of legal knowledge, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) through promoting legal awareness and strengthening the rule of law within the community.

This activity is part of a series of training and awareness initiatives implemented by the Legal Clinic under the “Enhancing the Sustainability of the Legal Clinic” project, funded by the Sawasya III Programme in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
