Studentships for the PhD in Law will be offered for 2017-2018 funded by both Edinburgh Law School and the generous legacy of Edinburgh Law School alumnus Ewan Cameron.


Each studentship covers the UK/EU rate of fee and an annual stipend of £10,000. These are tenable for three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Eligibility

The studentship is open to applicants who have applied to study a full-time PhD in Law commencing in 2017-2018.  Successful applicants will be expected to firmly accept the offer at the time when the results of the application process are announced. Candidates who already have an offer of financial sponsorship from elsewhere will not eligible.

Applicants of any nationality are eligible to apply.

Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have the minimum equivalent of a 2:1 degree at undergraduate level.  A good result in a consequent and relevant Masters degree will also be expected.

Selection Procedure

Applications will be considered on the basis of the paperwork submitted by the applicant and a ranking carried out by relevant members of academic staff in the Law School.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of April 2017.
