Former Argentine President, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, was indicted ‎Tuesday on allegations of corruption. Fernandez and three others are ‎accused of illicit association and fraudulent administration in connection ‎with the use of funds meant for public works.‎

The allegations go back as far as 2003 when Fernandez's husband was President. Nearly $3 billion dollars worth of government contracts are under investigation.

The former president has recently been the subject of various corruption investigations. In November she appeared before a judge as part of the investigation into the alleged corruption. In May, an Argentinian federal prosecutor made a formal request to a judge to conduct an investigation of Fernandez and her son for illegal enrichment in an ongoing money laundering investigation. Last year a judge in Argentina dismissed criminal allegations against Fernandez that accused her of conspiring to shield Iranian officials from responsibility for the 1994 bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires. Fernandez was accused of the cover up in January 2015.
