As part of strengthening the partnership between the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and in continuation of the Faculty’s efforts to support and empower its students and graduates professionally, a welcoming meeting was held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, with the Faculty’s students and graduates currently undertaking training with the NRC: Ra'fat Shahada, Tasneem Abu Omar, and Donia Jammous. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Noor Adas, the Director of the Legal Clinic, Ms. Safa Balawi, and members of the Legal Clinic team.

The meeting aimed to welcome the trainees, who recently commenced a six-month training programme with the Norwegian Refugee Council. The programme is implemented through the Legal Clinic and seeks to enhance participants’ practical experience and develop their legal skills within a specialized professional environment.

Dr. Noor Adas emphasized the Faculty’s commitment to providing high-quality training opportunities for its students and graduates, noting that such initiatives contribute to strengthening practical skills alongside academic knowledge and enhance participants’ readiness to engage in the labour market and within legal and human rights institutions.

For her part, Ms. Safa Balawi welcomed the trainees and affirmed that the Legal Clinic continues to oversee training programmes designed to build graduates’ legal capacities and professional competencies. She also highlighted the importance of the partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council in providing a realistic and enriching professional training environment.

The meeting included an interactive discussion on the objectives of the training programme and the nature of the tasks that the trainees will undertake during the coming months, with a focus on enhancing their professional preparedness and advancing their legal competencies.

This training opportunity represents an important bridge between academic learning and practical experience, contributing to the development of participants’ legal and professional identities and strengthening their ability to engage with legal issues in diverse professional settings.
