An-Najah National University’s team has qualified for the in-person final stage of the second edition of the Arab Human Rights Moot Court Competition, after successfully passing the written memorial evaluation and the preliminary oral rounds organised by the United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region.

The team qualified in a competition that brought together 68 universities from 16 Arab countries. Only 15 teams advanced to the final stage, which will be held in person in Doha, Qatar, in October 2026. The qualifying teams will compete in in-person moot court sessions, allowing them to demonstrate their legal knowledge and oral advocacy skills before panels of judges.

An-Najah National University was represented at this stage by students Yazan Qassas, Celine Al-Zawawi, Dana shkokani, and Ahmad Alwan, under the supervision and training of Ms. Bisan Abtli, Coordinator of the Palestinian Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights at the Faculty of Law and Political Science.

This qualification represents a distinguished achievement for An-Najah National University and reflects the academic and practical capabilities of its students in the fields of international human rights law, legal research, legal memorial drafting, and oral advocacy. It also affirms the University’s commitment to providing practical training opportunities that strengthen its students’ readiness to compete in regional and international forums.

This qualification is the result of the training and supervision provided by the Palestinian Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights at the Faculty of Law and Political Science, as part of its efforts to develop students’ legal capacities and strengthen their participation in regional and international forums. These efforts are undertaken within the framework of the EU-funded project for the establishment of the Institute.
